PIC plays WAV

Microchip Technology

“PIC plays WAV” project shows how to add a good sound or voice to the application. The sounds improve the application user interface. They can confirm user actions; indicate that some process is finished. The recorded voice can contain help information for the user or can tell about a result calculated by application. This code example is based on PWM. MCCP/SCCP module in PWM mode is used on 16MIPS PIC24F device. The audio WAV file is converted in a sound image using a special wav2image.jar utility. Then this sound image is stored into the device flash memory. The sound data from flash are transferred to PWM. The signal from PWM is filtered and amplified for the speaker.
